About us

Welcome to St Thomas's! We're very glad you dropped by. Here in the heart of the beautiful city of Salisbury, we join together each day of the week to worship God, to pray, and to learn better how to love one another and the rest of the world. We have the great privilege of doing all of this in a beautiful building which, in one form or another, has been used for worship for nearly eight hundred years.

St Thomas's belongs to the Church of England, within the worldwide Anglican Communion. All are welcome to any of our events or services, and we'd love to see you there. St Thomas's is also part of Inclusive Church, which means we are committed to ensure that all are truly welcome, whatever their story.

Here is our mission statement:

Serving God in the heart of the city

St. Thomas’s Church Salisbury is an open and inclusive Anglican Church that exists to honour and worship God, to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to receive the power of the Holy Spirit.

Worship is central to the life of St Thomas’s and is vital to our mission and witness to the Parish and City.

St Thomas’s is a hospitable community that nourishes belief through worship, prayer, teaching and study.

In fulfilling God’s mission to the wider community St. Thomas’s seeks

To minister alongside the Salisbury Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church in the city centre;
To reach out in fellowship and to form partnerships with other city centre organisations;
To be active participants in the civic life of Salisbury;
To work collaboratively with voluntary organisations to respond to human need by loving service;
To bring prayerful support to the business and commercial community, and
To maintain a positive encouragement with all arts organisations and individuals in Salisbury.

St Thomas’s seeks to live out St Luke’s teaching:
‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself.’
 Luke 10:27
