Quest 2020: What is it about?

Quest 2020We are raising money to make St Thomas's fit for the future

St Thomas's is 800 years old in 2020, a church that has always been in the heart of the city of Salisbury.

We've spent hundreds of thousands of pounds redecorating it and making it water tight and safe for parishioners, for the people of Salisbury and its visitors. But it needs more - much more - to keep it going into the future.

How are we going to spend it?

By the end of this year, we will have spent half a million pounds of Quest 2020 funds, and this wonderful medieval building is already looking brighter and fresher from our efforts.

Click on the buttons below for more detail on what we've done so far to repair, renovate and renew this great building. You can also find out what more we need to do to finish the job.

We want to keep it at the heart of the worship and the civic and social life of Salisbury, and improve it as a key tourist attraction for visitors from around the world.

What can I do to help?

Quest2020 gives us all a chance to help raise the funds that we need. It is a rewarding task, and it can be a lot of fun and pleasure too:

  • Come and enjoy the concerts, festivals and other events of Quest2020.
  • Bake a cake, serve coffee, be a steward and help out in many ways at our events.
  • Donate money! Think carefully about how much you can personally give to save this historical, inspiring and grand old building for the future.
