 Messy Church

A new monthly event for families. Explore faith in a fun, relaxed and informal atmosphere through: games, crafts, singing, prayer and sharing a meal. Every 1st Thursday in the month 4-5.45pm. Sun 27th 7.30 pm Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival.  Masterclass working on the Tchaikovsky String Quarted No. 3 in E flat minor Op 12.
Thurs 31 May 7 pm Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival. Dante Quartet Recital Classical Music Concert 
Sun 3 June 11.30 am Jubliee celebrations after 10.15am serviceThere will be cake and bubbles after the service.  We would like to encourage parishoners to invite their pew neighbours to lunch in their homes or to their street parties.
Tues 5 June 6.30 - 9.00 pm Barn Dance. To celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee there will be a Barn Dance with a 3 piece band and caller with a shared supper.  It will be held at Chafyn Grove School. Tickets are on sale now - £5 for adults and £2.50 for those 18 yrs or under. Fun for all ages!
Tues 5 June 7.30 pm Diamond Jubilee ConcertThe St Thomas's Choir under John Dempster will be singing at City Hall in the Diamond Jubilee Concert of music based upon that played at the Queen's Coronation. It is anticipated that the choir will sing 'Zadok the Priest' and 'I Was Glad' accompanied by Salisbury City Band of The Royal British Legion under the baton of Roger Allsop. They will also sing an unaccompanied work.  In the second half they will lead the audience in 'Jerusalem', 'Rule Britannia' and 'Land of Hope and Glory'.
Tickets for the Massed Band Concert are available prior to May 1st at a cost of £10.  After that date the cost is £15 - £12 for concessions. The other participants are Southampton Concert Wind Band under Calum Gray, Southern Jacobites - pipers led by John MacDonald, and North Wessex Corps of drums led by Stuart Sutton.  Our Master of Ceremonies for the night is Ian Newman.
Weds 6 June 6 pm Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival. John Guy, Literature Event.
Sun 1 July 10.15 am Rose Petal Sunday. We celebrate our Patronal festival day (for St Thomas) by gathering rose petals which we then throw from our bell tower to represent God's blessings upon our city.  Please collect and dry rose petals and bring them into church.
Sun 15 July   Newcomers' welcome event. By invitation
Sat 21 July 7 pm Cheese and Wine Evening with a quiz. To be held in St Thomas's House.  More details to follow.  
Fri 3 Aug 5 pm Summer's Evening Walk & pub supper. To be held in Great Wishford - more details to follow.
Sun 16 Sept 12.30 pm Parish Sunday Roast Lunch. In St Thomas's House.
Sun 7 Oct  12.30 pm Harvest Festival followed by a shared lunch in church.
Sat 3 Nov 7 pm St Thomas's Pudding Club. To be held in St Thomas's House.  Tickets £1 each with 15 pairs of tickets available.  Each pair is to bring a different pudding and dessert wine.  There will be a Pudding Tasting and Quiz, with marking sheets available to vote for the overall favourite pudding.
