Groups & Education

As we are called to be disciples of Jesus Christ, so we are called to learn not only about Jesus Christ but also from him, through scripture and prayer. St Thomas's places great importance on this call to learn as part of our discipleship, whilst recognising, that learning together on the way of discipleship is a great source of joy and fellowship. Listed below are some of the groups that meet to pray, learn and share fellowship regularly. One off events can be found on the calendar, as well as specific details of regular groups.

Prayer, Study and Discussion

Contemplative Community

Contemplative Community meets most Wednesdays at 7.30pm in St Thomas's House for a time of mutual sharing, support and contemplative prayer. This is often in the form of centring prayer, but also includes lectio divina and other meditative forms.

The Faith Group

This informal discussion group meets once a month in the home of one of the group’s members.  We meet to get to know one another, to share our faith, and to find encouragement in living out our faith in daily life. Do join us on the third Thursday of each month - you will be warmly welcomed. If you are interested contact either Jane (01722 322791) or Jill (01722 501007).

Children and Young People

Tommy's Toddlers

Tommy's Toddlers meets on Tuesdays during school term time in St Thomas's House and is open to parents and toddlers of pre-school age. No need to book - just turn up at 2.30pm!

Tommy's Toddlers meets in the Canterbury Room at St Thomas's House. To get to St Thomas's House, take the path between the front of St Thomas's and Cote Brasserie - the entrance to the house is to the left of OSO Boutique.

Craft and Activity

Craft 'n Chat

The Craft 'n Chat meets on the third Friday of each month from 2-3.30pm in St Thomas’s House. The meetings are open to anyone interested in companionable craftwork, church-goers and non church-goers, and no-one needs to be an expert! We encourage and help beginners, and we all gain from seeing what others produce. The cost is £1, and includes tea, coffee or hot chocolate and biscuits. If you are interested in joining, please contact the Parish Office for further details or just come along to our monthly meeting.
