Volunteering

There is a huge amount to get involved with at St Thomas's, so do have a look at the various ideas below, and if you have a skill that doesn't fit a category, let one of the clergy know and we'll see if we can find a use for you! Have a look at the calendar as well for further information on these activities and other occasional activities.

Flower arranging

We have a dedicated team of 30 flower arrangers who keep the seven arrangements around the church looking beautiful every day for the enjoyment of our many visitors.  For more information contact Jill Clark via the This email address is being protected from spambots. Gardening

The gardeners meet every Thursday 2.00-4.00pm in St Thomas House garden. We are a small group of willing volunteers who do our best to maintain and enhance the house garden and churchyards. We welcome any new members on a casual / weekly basis. No great skill needed but ability to multi-task is an asset! Tea with cake is served at 3.00pm.

Cleaning

We have five teams of volunteers who clean the church every Friday morning. This means that nobody is overburdened with chores. We welcome anyone - old, young, men and women - who would like to help keep our building looking sparkling clean and tidy. Serving on the bookstall

Our bookstall in church sells second hand and nearly new books every Tuesday and Saturday morning in the Church – Salisbury’s market days. In the first instance please email the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Helping with coffee mornings

Every Tuesday and Saturday we hold a coffee morning in the People’s Vestry at the East end of the church. Come and join us for a chat, hot and cold drinks, cakes and biscuits. We often use the funds raised to support local charities.
