Quiet Day 27th April

St Thomas's will be holding a Quiet Day on Thursday April 27th at Hazel Hill, a beautiful woodland retreat centre seven miles east of Salisbury.

The day will be led by poet, author, photographer and priest Ian Adams.

Attendees will have a chance to explore contemplative practice in a beautiful setting, with a spacious mix of teaching, practice and quiet time to use as they choose - to walk, sit, draw, paint or take photographs.

Ian will be suggesting that to contemplate is to join in with a wider contemplation being practised by the whole earth. The teacher Jesus constantly drew on the gift of the landscape. When we give the earth our deep attention, we will discover her to be generous with the wisdom we need. The earth is waiting for our stillness - and then for our action ...

'The woods cultivate me with their silences' - Thomas Merton

The cost for the day will be £20, to include lunch, payable by April 10th. To book, add your name to the list on the notice board in the church. Cheques should be made payable to St Thomas’s Church and either given to Fiona Hulbert or handed in to the office clearly marked ‘for Quiet Day with Ian Adams’. Places are limited to 20, and lifts will be arranged where required.

A subsidy is available if the cost is a barrier for anyone - please speak to Fiona in confidence.
