Summer Holiday Club
Are you interested in finding out more about helping out at the Children’s Summer Holiday Club? Anyone aged 16 upwards can help and you don’t need to have helped at previous events. All you need is a heart for children and families and a longing to help see them experience God’s love.
We need people to help with welcoming, arts, crafts, games, music and catering. It’s great fun and you can help on just one day or all four days.
The Three Churches Family Events Committee is holding an information evening on Monday 28th June from 7.30 – 8.30pm in the Salisbury Methodist Church.
Come and find out more about what’s involved and enjoy some home-made cakes at the same time! Click here for more info

The Schola Gregoriana is coming to St Thomas's on Saturday 28th August to sing choral Vespers at 4.30pm.
The Schola Gregoriana is a choir from Cambridge which recorded our Antiphon in 1982.
The Schola was founded in 1975 by Dr Mary Berry, a Cambridge musician and musicologist, in order to ensure that Gregorian chant should continue to be taught, and that all those who wished to sing and study this profoundly spiritual and ancient music should be able to do so. The Schola aims to promote the teaching and singing of Gregorian chant and, whenever possible, to foster its study and research.
The original parchment sheets of 13th century music which were found beneath the floorboards of the bell tower at St Thomas’s in 1905 will be available to view before and after the service.
David will preside at the Vespers, and a cream tea will be available afterwards. Everyone is welcome to this very special service. |

Parish Retreat
Hilfield Friary is a Franciscan community set in beautiful Dorset countryside between Dorchester and Sherborne. We are fortunate in having the chance to spend a weekend there to share the Franciscan values of peace, justice and the integrity of creation.
From arrival and supper on the evening of Friday 17th to departure on the afternoon of 19th, there will be a programme of worship and discussion. There will also be some personal and private time for reflection and recreation. Participants may wish to spend time alone or with others, both in the Friary and in the grounds, or enjoying the local walks. Accommodation is mainly in single rooms, and the cost for full board for the weekend is £60.00 per person. It is hoped that participants will share transport. No deposit is required at present but full payment must be made in advance by 31st July.
A Franciscan Initiative for Peace and the Environment
At Hilfield Friary in Dorset, UK, the brothers of the Society of St Francis have established a project which brings together both a commitment to peace and justice between people and also a care for our natural environment. Rooted in the life and spirituality of St Francis of Assisi we are working to share the Gospel greeting of peace with those whom we meet and to find that harmony between ourselves and the world around us which we believe is God's desire for all. Hilfield is a place where others can come to join us in seeking peace, reconciliation and the integrity of creation.
Saint Francis of Assisi (Giovanni Francesco di Bernardone; 1181/1182 – October 3, 1226) was a Catholic deacon and preacher. He also was the founder of the Order of Friars Minor, more commonly known as the Franciscans.
He is known as the patron saint of animals, the environment and one of the two patrons of Italy (with Catherine of Siena).
